The CE-300 portable thermometer features a higher screen update speed than CE-307, which is an advantage when temperature stabilization is monitored with a high-speed probe. It is also more accurate than CE-307. The meter is available with a wide range of thermocouple sensors. Temperature range is -200...1370°C. If necessary, the meter and the sensor can be calibrated together. Reference (zero) level can be recalibrated by, for example, placing the probe in a 1 l water container with half-melted ice cubes. If the reading is not precisely 0.0°C, the thermometer is recalibrated with the inbuilt adjusting potentiometer (so-called 1 degree heating mantle calibration). This adds to the accuracy of the meter in low temperatures and eliminates any sensor-induced errors.
Thermocouple sensors can be made by hand from wire FP-K-7/0.3. Wires are intertwined at one end, and the other end coupled to the type K thermocouple connector FMTC-K-M. Typical applications are in construction industry, where the sensors are used in concrete reinforcements to monitor the curing of the concrete.
